Kamala Harris was my choice for President earlier this year. I'm going to vote for Biden / Harris in 2020, but the Democrats need something to run on besides the issue of race. I've heard almost nothing from the Dem's on the subjects of national security, the national debt, a detailed economic plan, income inequality, the environment, or their collective response to COVID 19. When the hoopla of the Democratic convention is over, I want to hear their solutions to the problems we face today. ---It can't be all about race.

Democrats would do well to contrast and defend Liberal American values against the last 40 years of failed conservatism.

Being republican-lite is not viable. This swing toward fascism must be thwarted by clear messaging. We need a new Liberal narrative which defines the differences.

A comparative analysis of history is required. Are we Americans better off than we were 40 years ago.

Honest commoners know the answer.

They have detailed plans on all those issues, but the election is a referendum on Donald Trump and they should keep that simple fact in mind. The emphasis should be on his failings, not promises that swing voters are likely to be skeptical of anyway.

Here's the 2016 Democratic Party Platform.

https://democrats.org/where-we-stand/party-platform/

As I hope you know, the platform is rewritten every four years at the Democratic National Convention, which in 2020 runs August 17-20. The URL above will have the 2020 platform once it is finished.

But No1 is right. We need to focus on the damage Donald Trump is doing to America and concentrate on bringing Americans of every stripe together to oppose Trump at the ballot box in November.

Yes, agreed.
Also, as this is politics, keep your cards close to the vest at this point.
FOX Propaganda will run with the misrepresentation of facts and turn it into Kool-Aid for their base.
Trump is the Dems best weapon right now.
Let him do the "Wil-e-Coyote running through the minefield" schtick for now.
A hi-level presentation at the convention will do the trick.

A good talking point is to point out that COVID 19 is not going to disappear soon, contrary to the "soothsayer".
It will be with us for a while.
Based on the results of the first 6 months, who should take the ball starting in 2021 ?
Let the GOP chew on that.

Yes, I think COVID will prove to be Trump's Achilles Heel. There is no bullying a virus. There is no making deals with a virus, and there is no threatening to sue one later either.

The next election will be the impeachment trial the House started but the Senate aborted.
