The prison camp you've never heard of.
Matsapha Correctional Centre--bet you never heard of it. It's in the country of Eswatini--bet you never heard of that either. It's a place to which Trump is deporting people who have already served their time in U.S. prisons, people the Trump administration calls "depraved monsters" convicted of crimes including child rape and murder. Lawyers told AFP they had already served their time in the United States.
A veteran prison warden told AFP there was unease over the US deportees, about 160 of them so far. "We haven't been trained to handle prisoners like these," he said on condition of anonymity. "We don't have the equipment either."
Why would a tiny country in Africa, which admittedly does not have the training or facilities to cope with "depraved monsters" accept such people, you ask. Because the Trump administration paid the country $5.1 million.
Here's an article about it:

Call it Trump's "Devil's Island v2.0."
@moonbus saidThats a good deal. Average cost of incarceration in the US runs from about $40,000 to $250,000 per year depending on the state. Lets take 160 inmates x $100,000. I think Trump made a good deal. Plus you get those sickos out of the US. Western countries that have high jail occupancy rates should send more to these African and South American jails. Its a win-win for everyone, especially the US taxpayer.

@Rajk999 saidThat argument is why businessmen should not be running governments. Justice shouldn't be for sale to the lowest bidder.

@moonbus saidThat makes no sense. Incarceration comes after justice. Maybe you should try again. Let me help you. Hatred, which you are clearly experiencing has destroyed your ability to be objective and unbiased. Everything you post [just like sonhouse and others], is tainted with personal bias.

In this case criminals have gone through due process and at the incarceration stage they are sent to a foreign prison which savees up to 100,000,000 annually.
Basically your post is nonsense.
@Rajk999 saidIncarceration does not come after justice; it is part of the justice system. Incarceration comes after a trial and a sound guilty verdict.

Did you read the article? Many of the people had already served their sentences in U.S. prisons. THEN they were deported to a foreign prison. This is not justice, it is arbitrary deportation.
@moonbus saidAre there any American citizens? No .. then I could not be bothered. They are all illegal aliens. There is an important lesson here for foreigners .. Dont enter another country illegally.

@Rajk999 saidThe report does not say whether they were legal residents or not. In any case, due process has not been followed. Due process is a human right, not restricted to legal residents.

@moonbus saidWell you are guessing. More information needs to be gathered to see whether or not this foreign imprisonment is fair or not. The US generally deport, or fine, first time illegal immigrants. It is considered a simple misdemeanor. Anything else is a federal offence / criminal act. Due process is often the reason for illegals taking advantage of the system. In many countries foreigners dont get due process either.

why would you defend these animals?
your article distorts the truth...these animals are sent there to be REPATRIATED to their home countries.
They should be hung
@Rajk999 saidThe fact that other countries deny people due process is no reason for the USA to do so. The fact that some people exploit due process to delay justice is no reason to skip due process altogether.

Furthermore, the article states that some of the prisoners have been repatriated to other countries. So why doesn't the USA do this directly? Why use a go-between? It stinks of 'dark flights' not approved by any court, but simply on Trump's personal say-so. This is not justice. Where summary detention and summary deportation get a foothold, it is not long before summary execution follows, and Trump has already stated that he intends to re-introduce capitol punishment.
@moonbus saidWell ... take your justice and due process and stuff it up you know where. Your blind adherence to stupid rules is the reason why child rapists and murderers get back on to the streets to rape and kill again. I say shoot them. But since that is not acceptable, then get them out of the country so that stupid judges who think like you cannot allow them back into the country. Due process and justice has failed.

Strawman argument
No where in the article states they were denied due process.
most libs whine about things they are just ignorant about
@Rajk999 saidWe'll have to agree to disagree on that point. Rules and procedures matter, otherwise govt. becomes a lynch mob with uniforms.

@moonbus saidThey matter of course ... if they work. Whenever a rapist or murderer gets an opportunity to do it again and again, then your rules and procedures are the problem.
