It's a viable hypothesis, actually. Lebanon was ravaged last year by an utterly unhinged Israeli military bombardment. Now we see Lebanon exhibiting what could be characterized as classic "transferred aggression", wherein a beaten animal vents its frustration by seeking out and abusing an even weaker creature. Israel is very much a terrorist state, as has own facts in accordance to the dictates of their prejudices and corporate masters.

But Israel is a little fish, and most times I'm more interested in taking aim at the reigning Empire that equips its war machine.

There's one not so slight problem with that supposed motivation, The Israelis attacked the Hezzies, the Lebanese aren't. This does Israel no favor at all.
Originally posted by SoothfastThat does it. I'll take two. You've sold me. Lebanon is doing it because they're Israeli puppets or whatever.
Yep, I just checked the news articles again. Lebanon is going after "Islamist militants" -- surely a good thing for Israel. I'll stick with my original hypothesis until more data comes in.
Originally posted by SoothfastOf course the Libanon army is fighting "Islamist militants" and not "Palestinian refugees". You seem to forget however that the whole Arab world is fighting them.

Tell me, how do you look upon the recent militairy clashes between the two Palestinian factions, the PLO and Hamas ? Do you think there are any connections between what is happening in the Gaza strip and Libanon at the moment ?

Oh please. The reason it's not stirring up fuss is because it's muzzie on muzzie. I'm sure I'm not the only one that notices that whenever Israel does something to the Arabs, it's all over, but whenever it's Arab on Arab, or muzzie on muzzie, it gets no press.
There is much you have learn't Master Merk!
