Is this PLO revenge or a sign of a new PLO?
I dunno. "Exterminate all the brutes".

It's a viable hypothesis, actually. Lebanon was ravaged last year by an utterly unhinged Israeli military bombardment. Now we see Lebanon exhibiting what could be characterized as classic "transferred aggression", wherein a beaten animal vents its frustration by seeking out and abusing an even weaker creature. Israel is very much a terrorist state, as has own facts in accordance to the dictates of their prejudices and corporate masters.
Too much psycho-analyses, a lack of facts and the usual anti-US and anti-Israel bias make your hypothesis a good example of political speculation, which perfectly fits your own political agenda ...

Well, uh...yeah...insofar as a hypothesis is by definition a speculation that has some chance of being empirically verified or discredited by data as yet not available.

But Israel is a little fish, and most times I'm more interested in taking aim at the reigning Empire that equips its war machine.

There's one not so slight problem with that supposed motivation, The Israelis attacked the Hezzies, the Lebanese aren't. This does Israel no favor at all.
Israel wants all "Islamic extremists" in its midst stamped out, and surely even you are aware that Hezbollah is but one of many militant organizations lurking in the region.

Yep, I just checked the news articles again. Lebanon is going after "Islamist militants" -- surely a good thing for Israel. I'll stick with my original hypothesis until more data comes in.

That does it. I'll take two. You've sold me. Lebanon is doing it because they're Israeli puppets or whatever.

Of course the Libanon army is fighting "Islamist militants" and not "Palestinian refugees". You seem to forget however that the whole Arab world is fighting them.

Tell me, how do you look upon the recent militairy clashes between the two Palestinian factions, the PLO and Hamas ? Do you think there are any connections between what is happening in the Gaza strip and Libanon at the moment ?

I know little more than that people are being shot for having or not having beards, and all that that implies. What insights do you have?

Sorry, but my armchair musings only sell in six-packs. 😉

Oh please. The reason it's not stirring up fuss is because it's muzzie on muzzie. I'm sure I'm not the only one that notices that whenever Israel does something to the Arabs, it's all over, but whenever it's Arab on Arab, or muzzie on muzzie, it gets no press.
So is it just about bad news selling? Are you saying news has to have a component of prejudice pitting well defined stereotypes against each other before we want to hear it?

There is much you have learn't Master Merk!
