It appears Dims admit why they fear Kavanaugh. It is because he is a literalist when it comes to the Constitution and this is problematic when it comes to such issues as the Second Amendment.

What they want is someone who is either illiterate, or thinks that the Constitution is an allegory kinda like how some view the stories in the Bible.

No, what we want is a SCOTUS who will not act on what he as already said in his court cases, that the president should be LITERALLY above the law and that is the EXACT reason T picked him out of all the other right wingers. T cares less about union rights, women's reproductive rights, medical issues, environmental issues. He picked K BECAUSE he thinks he will get a 'get out of jail card' from SCOTUS if K is selected.

The other anti abortion, killing Roe V Wade, killing union rights, environmental issues, medical issues, all that is to T just icing on the cake which will ensure his 30% base will be with him no matter what.

My fondest wish is after K gets confirmed, Democrats take over the house and get 68 or so seats in the senate.

THEN see what happens to that creep Kavanaugh. They will pass constitutional amendments overriding whatever K tries to change like R V Wade. and the rest, and with a 2/3 majority, it doesn't matter if T vetoes or not, their bill goes through and K will choke on it but be unable to change it since it would now be a constitutional amendment that say, Roe V Wade, for women's reproductive rights will be law and SCOTUS can sputter and spit all they want but they cannot go against the constitution.

But that will probably not happen since the rightwingnut republicans are afraid of Trump and cannot grow any balls to counter the craziness inherent in the mind of Trump and while Democrats may take both houses with a majority, it will not be a 2/3 majority so any such legislation will just be vetoed by our literally unhinged POTUS.

He just recently tried to force a 17 yo girl to go full term with an unwanted pregnancy which in Texas is allowed up to week 20 or so. It was already at something like week 12 and he delayed and delayed the proceedings where he said she should go back to lower courts and such, CLEARLY designed that way to delay the whole affair till it was say 22 weeks or so into it and thus making that particular abortion illegal by Texas law. He was on a court with three judges and the other two voted against him so the girl got her abortion but that opinion flies DIRECTLY into the face of Roe V Wade where it is supposed to be established law but not according to K. He WILL kill R V Wade if he gets the chance and that is only ONE of the ways he will pollute established law in the US.

There are others like environmental protections and the BIGGIE from Trumps POV, making the sitting POTUS free from any kind of investigation, because as K reasons, all that nasty investigation crap stops POTUS from making rational decisions but instead focusing on the investigation so POTUS should never be charged no matter WHAT crime he commits. Even if as T said, I could shoot someone in Times Square and get away with it. If K gets in, EXACTLY that could happen so T would indeed have a get out of jail card. So you figure all that is ok.
