The U.S. already provides free healthcare for some citizens in the form of Medicaid, which has been around since the 60's.

If there's a practical way to provide free healthcare, of course liberals would want it for all citizens.
".....some citizens..." "....if.."

Looking for a straight, non-lib-laced answer here.

I just looked up Americans over 65. 16.5% is the answer. These are who are covered by medicare which you mention above. Cool. But, I think we are speaking of the other 85%, and of course everyone in America who is not supposed to be here (reference the border, etc). And might we stipulate that those covered Americans have paid into the system......for 65 years. Help me Rhonda.

smart guy full of smart ideas. I forget, did wealth trickle down yet?
You know, I picture you guys, instead of making your lot in life, standing at the bottom of a spigot, waiting for the trickle-down. I can't even type that phrase comfortably. But, ,it is right up your alley. I for one cannot imagine sitting around waiting on somebody else's stuff to trickle un-earned to me.

'From each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs." He must have had a eureka moment to come up with that really concise phrase, so little which says so much.
Can you tell me what that means/meant, exactly? Maybe, having observed liberal dogma for some time, I don't know the answer....
I am thinking that you will not be able to separate that dictum of Marx from the principles of liberalism.
'From each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs. Can you tell me what that means/meant, exactly?

Yes, I can. It refers to the principle of free access and distribution of goods, capital, and services. We covered this in Economics 101 when I was a freshman. Any 1st year business student knows this. 🙄

Also -The answer to this is in about 20 different places on the internet. For someone who claims to have been a teacher, you don't know much.

Here is a foreigner from Romania. Socialist country until 1989. Only 30 years ago. He is weighing in the greatest conservative republican of all time.
Zahlanzi, why don't you entertain us free Americans with some of your thoughts on how life should be, open a thread of your own and expound!!! All we will have to do is read in amazement. 😲 😳 😲
"Here is a foreigner from Romania."
yes, a foreigner has the advantage of a brain not mushed by american exceptionalism propaganda

"Socialist country until 1989."
Communist dictatorship, you ignorant simpleton. Contrary to what you previously wrote, philosophical systems you don't identify with aren't all the same. There are differences between concepts, differences that matter.

"He is weighing in the greatest conservative republican of all time."
Reagan was an evil fukhead that screwed over the poor and made the rich richer. His policies are felt to this day and i see you didn't answer just how much trickling down there was. Other than the rich pissing all over the poor.

"free Americans"
Heh this joke again. If I get sick, i can go to a hospital and not go bankrupt. I am free of college debt. I am free to quit my job whenever I want and not fear that if i get sick i can't go see a doctor. I am free to take almost a month of FREE vacation each year. If i get sick i am entitled to sick leave and not be fired. If i have a kid, my wife can get up to 126 days paid maternity leave and better countries (not yours) have more. If i collapse in the street, an ambulance ride to the hospital won't bankrupt me. If i get pulled over by a cop i don't worry i might get shot.

I am more free than most americans. You have NOTHING i can't get in Romania. You have nothing that would ever make me move there and plenty of things that would make me stay away.

I am feeling generous and in this instance of the point rushing way over your head, i am going to explain a little and try to call you a dumbass only once or twice.

Reagan promissed that all the tax cuts and deregulation effect he enacted on the rich and uber rich will produce a trickling down of wealth, that it is a good thing the rich don't pay as much taxes because that way they will magically create more jobs and more wealth to be enjoyed eventually by the poor as well.

Immediately after calling reagan the bestest republican to ever live you admitted he lied, that there never was any trickling and there shouldn't be any 😀 That the billionaires made their lot in life and so can you.

"I for one cannot imagine sitting around waiting on somebody else's stuff to trickle un-earned to me."
That's because you're not very bright and you can't comprehend just what Reagan did and why it was bad. That the billionaires became billionaires by doing exactly what you accuse the poor: they stole someone's labour, they cheated on taxes and they placed Reagan as their prostitute to make all that legal.

Be all this arguable prose as it may, note how often you say 'free'. Have you never heard that 'nothing is free'. I think the air is free, but that is about it. Do you stand by your comments above that the 'stuff you got' was free? Can you answer this question? Was it free? Care to rephrase?

Did you overlook this part, which is also taught in Econ 101?

"Everyone assumes responsibility for anyone who cannot pay his debt, and he is conversely responsible for everyone else". Def by James Furner, author Marx on Capitalism.

Of course, you can take a scalpel and revise that sentence conveniently. My point is that it can be, and is, interpreted many ways. So, here we are.

Free access and distribution of goods, capital and services covers a wide parameters, truly, you are not tying in its peculiar application inside of Marxism, when we already have same in the capitalistic society. Dont get you there.

Free as in I pay taxes, i get stuff in return. Intelligent people don't need this concept explained to them.

Of course nothing is free. I pay taxes, taxes pay the doctors and nurses, they take care of the sick. An american however has to pay in addition to doctors and nurses for the insurance company's profit, for the bureaucrats who process the unnecessary paperwork, for whatever price gouging the pharma companies get away with (because they bribed your politicians). All while much of his taxes go towards a bloated military budget, enriching the wealthy and not fixing the infrastructure.

You pay more than any other first world country on healthcare while getting worse results.

Ronald Reagan once said that if totalitarian government ever comes to America, it will come in the guise of liberalism.
A prophet you say?
The presidency of Ronald Reagan in the United States was marked by numerous scandals, resulting in the investigation, indictment, or conviction of over 138 administration officials, the largest number for any president in American history.

No no, dont confuse our panel.
You see, the concept of ‘making money while you sleep’ begins with John Roe making an investment, with his momey, not someone else’s money.
So, that which flows from the spigot is the proceeds, the result of, his investment.
If someone else gets any thing which trickles, he is in effect getting something he has no right to.
(. There’s that pesky ‘right’ word again!!! ).
