Ach! Scientists! 🙂 I assumed that the need for attribution was unnecessary, considering that all men should know these words by heart. Actually, shouldn't it be 'Idol et al'?

I don't think we're the only ones on this planet. Or, this universe for that matter.

I'm giving a solid (yes).

If every solar system in the Milky Way had an average of five planets, there would be trillions of planets in our solar system alone. Our nearest "large" galaxy, Andromeda, is roughly four times bigger t ...[text shortened]... ng on satellites with atmospheres?), it is almost nonsensical to me to think we are alone.
This is the argument from incredulity and while many people share your view it doesn't make a convincing argument. Just because we can't conceive of being alone in such a large universe doesn't therefore make the existence of other aliens likely.
They may exist, but your incredulity will not make it so.

How do you explain UFO sightings then? They all can't be fake.

I think aliens had something to do with Stonehenge. There is no friggin way those people were able to raise those stones with primitive tools. Hell, it would be difficult to balance those stones with today's technology.

I didn't say anything about UFOs, but now you mention it there are a number of simple explanations for them - and remember a UFO is just an unidentified flying object.

Possible explanations:

1. hoaxes
2. unusual atmospheric phenomena - st. elmo's fire, sun dogs, the polar aurora, etc.
3. test aircraft (many sightings occur near air force bases)
4. lack of familiarity with the sky (stars, planets, shooting stars, satellites - all can be misidentified)

And does anyone ever wonder why astronomers don't report UFO sightings? After all, they're the ones who are always watching the sky. If there are LGMs buzzing Earth all the time, wouldn't they see them?

Yet again the argument from incredulity:

'I can't imagine how anyone could have done this, therefore no one can have done it'

Doesn't cut it.
Try again.

If your point of view of the universe is so narrow and arrogant to think that life exists only here, then you might have a problem.

I've not said that. My point of view is that I don't know.
But the argument that the universe is so big and vast that there couldn't just be us in it, isn't an argument.
