On September 12, the government DOJ website included a link and analysis of data from a Cato Institute study entitled "Ideology of political murders". Now it's gone.
This study evaluated 620 politically motivated murders since 1975 showing that most (63 % ) political violence comes from right wingers.
Also, there is not a recent spike as much of the shock media want you to think. It's been pretty consistently low for 50 years. The overall numbers that were politically motivated are so small compared to overall numbers as to barely be significant.
Wonder why Trump deleted the study from his website? Maybe because it didn't fit the narrative they were about to jam down everyone's throats about the surge in leftist-motivated crime, or maybe because the administration thought Republicans/conservatives were too dumb to realize they were parroting propaganda from the Trump administration. What reason do you think they have?

@wildgrass saidDOJ is deleting a lot of stuff it doesn't want to know about, and they'd rather you didn't look at it either.

1984 is here.
(I posted a similar story, I didn't see this one until I posted mine. Different study, different source, though, coming to the same conclusion.)
@Suzianne saidOne important piece here is the extreme low rates overall. As in, you are more likely to die in a petting zoo than as a victim of political violence. And yet our current government fear mongers so effectively to their sheep that we are now forced to devote enormous resources to combat it.

The doorbell camera shot of the right wing nut guy who came to kill the hortmans in their home is diabolically evil. If Fox News wants to deescalate they should just put that image up on the screen and explain to their viewers that politically charged violence is coming from their side too.
https://news.yahoo.com/articles/us-justice-department-removes-study-142600191.html
The vanished study opened with: “Since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives. In this same period, far-left extremists committed 42 ideologically motivated attacks that took 78 lives.”
[T]he findings align with independent research from the Center for Strategic and International Studies, which analyzed 893 terrorist plots between 1994 and 2020. That study concluded: “Rightwing attacks and plots account for the majority of all terrorist incidents in the United States since 1994.”
What is not mentioned in the article is that, in the Trump era specifically, very nearly all politically motivated murders are being perpetrated by the right.
This is the part where Mike69 shambles in to decry the number of Teslas that have been key-scratched this year.
@Soothfast saidSo this is how you defend all of the riots and what they include since the summer of love. I don’t know about numbers going back to 1990, it also doesn’t relate when we didn’t have this woke political atmosphere we have now. The lgbtq needs to drop the mentally ill T. Recently we have had the Jewish couple that was murdered, the medical ceo, a couple trans school shootings and now Charlie Kirk. I’m sure there are more not coming to mind.

@mike69 saidGenuine question here Michael. How are we supposed to "engage" with this MAGA trump right on literally anything anymore? Point out their hypocrisy around prosecuting free speech and defending a pedophile. You want to talk about a meritocracy while promoting criminals and career podcasters to the most important jobs in the world. Point to facts and graphs and you provide anecdotes and feelings. I can even quote people directly and you all just pretend that person didn't say that. Point to Trump's signature on a birthday card to Epstein and they say it's a forgery. None of it matters.

@wildgrass saidYou make all of these unproven comments as truth read my other comment and watch a couple videos of his debates. Your party wouldn’t recognize truth if it fell on you you repeat lies and bs news organizations. He was liked by us because he didn’t want violence, he simply debated with respect unlike those talking with him and a wonderful Christian that lived his life according to these standards and very intelligent. Of course that doesn’t go with little sues ideas of his faith while she doesn’t look in the mirror. He was also considered to be a future president.

@wildgrass saidYou literally just murdered someone over their free speech. How does your woke cancel culture fit into your free speech ideas. Watch a couple videos and see if Charlie would have listened to you with respect unlike your party.

@mike69 saidThis comment does not in any way respond to my post or answer the question. I posted a rigorous study on the prevailing viewpoints of those who commit political violence in America and you just say "nah, I'll believe something else instead".

@wildgrass saidActually no you didn’t, and you haven’t answered to one of my comments. Did you watch a video of his college campus DEBATES to be better informed instead of posting other people’s propaganda.

@mike69 saidOh, you posted to the wrong thread. Here we are discussing the data that the DOJ does not want you to see that quantifies the predominance of right wing violent murders in America over the last 50 years.

@mike69 saidAgain, unless you're black or gay or trans or Latino or any number of other non-white, non-straight people. He was racist to his core. I get that that's okay with most white people because you're just as racist.

@mike69 saidYou have a problem because I posted examples of Kirk's own propaganda-filled rants? Some of them filmed AT those college debates? Hypocrite. Just like the entire far-right-wing.
