Forget Jesus Christ and the "good news" about salvation. All across red state America, the true faith of evangelical churches lately often seems more about Donald Trump and trumpeting the Big Lie.
"There's one thing that I know for sure," declared Gene Bailey, the pastor of Eagle Mountain Church International, before a crowd of thousands recently gathered at Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma. "The raw truth was on Nov. 3, 2020, President Donald J. Trump won the election."
Later during the summit on the 2020 presidential election, which was broadcast live to a Facebook audience of over 300,000 followers, Hank Kunneman, the pastor of One Voice Ministries, proclaimed: "There is a payback coming!" The pastor went to rave about how President Joe Biden belongs in prison for "treason" and a "demonic agenda."
In the 17 months since the presidential election, pastors at these churches have preached about fraudulent votes and vague claims of election meddling. They have opened their church doors to speakers promoting discredited theories about overturning President Biden's victory and lent a veneer of spiritual authority to activists who often wrap themselves in the language of Christian righteousness.
Fortunately, white evangelicals are, in fact, a shrinking portion of the American public, but not because of immigration or Black Lives Matter or antifa or any of the other bogeymen that Republican propagandists prop up. It's because of evangelicals' own intolerance and bigotry. Younger Americans simply don't truck with it — even at Liberty University, students speak out about it! — and so are leaving the pews in large numbers. Heaven forbid, however, that evangelicals admit they only have themselves to blame and change their views to become more accepting of diversity. Instead, white evangelicals are embracing conspiracy theories, Trumpism, and, ultimately, a war on democracy itself.

@ThatsNotMyGum
religions, royalty yep, no argue there, but you didn't see Wozniak dance on dancing with the stars?
We can't say if there is a god or gods or no gods but if there are, they or it is clearly hands off. I can't understand how people can be so gullible as to follow some person going I HAVE THE ANSWERS FROM GOD HIMSELF.
First thing, HIMSELF? He has balls and reproduces sexually? Wonder how THAT would work🙂 There is some female god around just waiting in line?
@mchill saidForget religion; religion isn’t your problem, and the fact that the number of self identifying evangelical Christians in America is declining is about as relevant to what’s driving right wing attitudes as a cold wind is to making cubes freeze in an ice box.

Evangelical Christian numbers are declining and right wing preferences are increasing! Look at the data. More Gen Zs coming out as right wing conservatives, that’s your problem.
Trump will be dead soon; who you lefties going to blame then? You gonna join the deification of the orange blimp, help make him the martyr of the Stollen Election?
Move away from slagging off Trump and religion and start driving your own decent middle-ground agenda for social equality alongside economic prosperity.
I’ve said this before, the Democrats are like Labour in the UK, they only get into power when the conservatives mess up sufficiently. Trump gave you an in, do something with it instead of constantly bleating about Trump this and Trump that. All you’re doing is giving him oxygen.
You Dems are going to lose the next election and lose big. And it will largely be your own fault.

That is a solid post.
Removing Trump from office does not equal a licence to implement socialism.
