The only fear and hatred I feel is that this great country will go down the tubes if The One is elected. Socialism doesn't work: Higher taxes don't stimulate the economy or create jobs. Unions only retard growth and reduce profits. Government controlled schools are a disgrace. Trial lawyers are raping this country. Why would anyone vote Democrat in this election?
Yeah... that good old capitalism of yours is doing so well, isn't it?

because last 2 elections they voted for a republican and now they want their money back. because when a republican president messes up, they elect a democrat and then a republican and so on just because all the big dogs fund obscenely one of the two parties.

so you might have an awesome president out there in america, an independent or just not democrat or republican. only the americans will never elect them because all they hear on tv is Democrat or Republican.

Socialism is what the Democrats are promoting: Higher taxes, increased social programs, universal health care, universal pre-school, letting the unions (ending secret ballots and right to work; rewriting NAFTA, unilaterally if necessary, repeal of free trade) and trial lawyers run (putting tort reform on hold) amok, squelching free speech that do penly socialist ticket in years, that's why conservative Democrats are not voting for Obama.
Uh huh free trade...
So presumably if the market decides that it no longer wants US made goods, but prefers cheap Chinese imports that would be ok by you!
This may put hundreds of thousands of US citizens out of work & cause a depression, but hey - the good 'ole market forces must be right?
...Or do you prefer State intervention when it suits the US, even if it goes against Free Trade?

Who is naive again?
😉

*** Yes

*** Hyperbole...we already survived the onslaught of the Japanese in the '80s and '90s and the Chinese in the last 10 years and we still have the largest economy in the world. Free trade and division of labor are good things; they've improved Americans' standard of living and created more jobs in the expanded economy.

*** No -- this is what the Democrats, who are now beholden to Big Labor want. That's why they scuttled the Columbian Free Trade Agreement and why they want to repeal NAFTA.

Yes - precisely because of US trade restrictions!

It's not any worse.

And communism isn't an alternative for capitalism. It's the natural succesor to it.

When? Where? China and Eastern Europe have shed their communist past and their economies are red hot. Even Socialism-light countries like France, Germany and Sweden have realized they can't solve their countries' problems with anemic economic growth and 10-20 percent unemployment. As a result, they taming their unions and freeing their markets. The only places where something akin to communism is being practiced: Cuba and Venezuela, are struggling with poverty, food shortages, a lack of consumer goods and inflation.

That's because they've tried to replace capitalism with communism. Capitalism develops into communism (read up on the old dialectic materialism).

If Marxist theory works, then why was the first country where communism took hold Russia, a technologically backward agrarian feudal society? The whole thing is a fairy tale for lazy folks.
