I guess I just don't understand the Sharia-based culture. Maybe I should go around and kill some women so I can better relate.
This double standard about sex exists in the West as well, albeit in a different form, even in very liberal countries: when men sleep around it's seen as natural behaviour, but women who do the same are 'sluts'. Sexism when it comes to sex seems to be a universal constant across virtually all human society. 😞
Nigeria isn't the worst (and tbh I don't think these women will actually be stoned): in some cultures, rape victims are seen as equally culpable as the rapists and treated as adultresses, and women have had to flee for their lives, eg from Kurdish Turkey, because their family might kill them out of shame. 😲

What has always bothered me is "Religion" of every sort. The only difference between Islam and "Western" religions is that it is 600 or 700 years younger. What was the world like 700 years ago for any "witches" or "heritics"? Poor old Islam just has the bad luck to have its "killing phase" at time when their "one true religion" is viewable on satellite tv around the world. As they say in the business... "Get me pics of those stonings for the six o'clock news! Or heads will roll!" <pun is rated at about a three>

Islamic countries don't seem to differ that much from medieval European countries.
But, of course, if you suggest that a country/culture is backwards, you get accused of all sorts of things.
