According to this article Hillary Clinton is consulting evangelicals to help her appeal to evangelicals in the upcoming prsidential election.

According to the article about one quarter of the voting population in the US identifies themselves as "evangelicals" and they are a segment of the voting population the Democratic party has for the most part largely ignored until present. In fact, the incoming speaker of the House, Nancy Peloski, has created a group think tank for the Democratic party to help reach out to the centrists and the conservative voters in rural areas.

It appears the Democrats are searching for a soul of some kind. I guess the old saying, "If ya can't beat'em, join'em", applies here, no?

Well, at least give them credit for searching for a soul.

as I said .. the key to the whole thing is sincerity.
Once you can fake that you've got it made.

She'd wear a burka if she thought it would get her elected.

LOL. Problem is, is that they are searching for a temporary soul or a soul merely to get them elected.

Why is it as an evangelical, I always feel like politicians think of us as some newly discovered tribe who previously lived in the Amazon jungle? The conversation must go something like this.

Hillary: "Who are these strange new people, these e-van-jelicals?

Anthropologist/consultant: "They are a primitive tribe living by ancient texts, which they use to 'home school' their children. Their rituals center around the unborn and the gender identification. They typically greet each other by saying, "Merry Christmas" or "Ditto" - do not say "Happy Holidays"! to them, because this will anger them, causing them to beat you with their ancient texts and vote Republican."

Hillary: "Teach me their ways, so that I can reach out to them, because I too believe it takes a village to raise a child."

Personally, I'm thrilled by the idea that someone might figure out that the words "Christian" and "Left-wing" are allowed to go together. It's about time.
