Even from an anti-US*, pro-EU and pretty much as socialist / communist** as they come perspective, the coming election in the US is damned interesting.
Will they vote for the only rational choice; the democrats (right-wing economics, middle-ground social policies and internationally aggressive)?
Or will they vote republican (off the charts extremist party, adheres to conspiracy theories, denies democratic institutions, isolationist… so less aggressive internationally)?
Normally, in this case, I would hope the republicans win. Screw the Americans, just stay away from the rest of humanity while you froth in your broth of ignorance.
However, I do have non-gun-toting friends in the US, and I do wish them all the best. And that means politics as much in the middle ground as possible.
And even though the current republicans seem isolationist, their leading members are so un-bloody-hinged, it’s no guarantee they won’t do something stupid. Like nuke someone or something because Mike the Pillow guy throws a hissie… or something.
So, although it pains me to say it. Pleae vote democrat and uphold a semblance of sanity.
Should ya all vote to destroy America (a swing to the republicans is really going to be a hilarious disaster to the US economy and it’s institutions), please wait until May before unleashing the havoc. Our extra bedrooms will be ready by then and my friends won’t need to sleep on the floor.
* anti-US politically. I have no problems with Americans themselves. Well, most of them. Some are just complete nutjobs.
** added that to irritate Metalbrain.
@shavixmir
Thank you. It's good to read observations and opinions from outside whatever this has become.
@shavixmir saidsome will also stay at home. I would totally support that in the past, in the idiotic american political system where Democrats would just run on lukewarm promises hoping you would choose them as the lesser evil

This time... there is no contest. The republicans are actually going to fuk over democracy everywhere if they get elected.
I would hope enough young democrats and independents stay several hours in line now because republicans will make sure voting is pointless in the future.
Also, exciting you use for something that gets your blood pumping in a positive manner.
What is happening in the US is at the very least aggravating, fast approching terrifying.
Then again, we can learn to live with a totalitarian theological regime for the next 30 years or so if the republicans win. We probably don't have that long left to live anyway.
@zahlanzi saidHi, Zahlanzi. This may help as you approach on this issue. So which are dems, and/or Rpbs? Or, which are charged with which concept? By you.?

A great discussion
@zahlanzi saidNo.

I find it exciting.
If the republicans win, the US is going to really sink into retardville territory. How funny is that?
@shavixmir saidNo, no: the Republican are doing their homework and getting coached by the proven masters of soft fascism. Just this summer they got Viktor Orbán to talk at the CPAC Convention, and I understand that they're serenading Kim Jong-un to come visit next year. Hitler's head in a jar is being reserved for 2024, of course.
No.
I find it exciting.

@shavixmir saidA theological dictatorship with the biggest army in the world where the loudest and dumbest rule?
No.
I find it exciting.

Hilarious.
