I disagree with some things that Fauci has done (especially that he tailors his message to outcomes rather than just sticking to the facts) and he ought to take it easy with the TV appearances, but he's no worse than most politicians.

One major strategy is to go after the guy who made Trump look like a fool day in and day out in the daily White House briefings during the 2020 outbreak.
An obvious attempt to whitewash the pathetic (and almost comical) response to the pandemic.
The delusion that smearing Fauci, and science in general, will somehow make Trump look not quite as bad is actually a source of entertainment for me in this forum whenever you guys post endlessly about everything denial when it comes to COVID 19.
I fully expect that when Omicron runs it's course and the pandemic eventually peters out into an endemic, the narrative will switch to something like "Trump was right all along".
I'm sure the Trumpskulls are already winding up.
The reality around COVID 19 is that it was a moving target that threw unexpected curves at us (eg new variants like Omicron).
And it is more than a reasonable conclusion that even the best minds will be wrong about things as the events unfold.

When a leader like Jim Jordan or Rand Paul is blaming Tony Fauci, they are gaslighting you. Elected leaders have the power to implement regulations, make decisions, pass laws, but instead of revealing themselves as feckless leaders they'd rather scapegoat the advisor.
