N.Y. passes a bill that raises the age to buy and own semi-automatic rifles
Congratulations, NY legislators, you may have saved many kids' lives. Thanks for standing up for what is right.
This may have been the first such bill after Uvalde, but certainly not the last.
@Suzianne
Well congratulations New York but you can make a safe bet as to how well that would go over in Idaho or Montana..... Still, it is a great start. That IDIOT Cruz going, what we need is mental health experts not gun control....
@suzianne saidSince it's almost impossible to buy a gun in New York anyway what good will that do?

Guns are almost illegal anyway for normal citizens to possess.
@vivify saidYou are right, I didn't know that.
Handguns are hard to get in NY due to license requirements but not rifles or shotguns.
So.....handguns, which are basically illegal or next to impossible to own unless you are a saint, are still responsible for 99% of gun crimes, while rifles/shotguns, which anyone over 18 can buy, are barely represented in gun crimes?
Gotta wonder why.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio school districts could begin arming employees as soon as this fall under legislation approved by Republican lawmakers and set to be signed by GOP Gov. Mike DeWine.
@jj-adams saidHandguns are easy to conceal both from the enemy and from the police.
You are right, I didn't know that.

@earl-of-trumps saidI look forward to seeing the budget and salary impact of this on the Ohio education system.

@athousandyoung saidI agree. Training, hazardous duty pay, etc.
I look forward to seeing the budget and salary impact of this on the Ohio education system.
@Earl-of-Trumps
When republicans face actually paying our money they balk, no, we don't need all that do we...
@suzianne saidI remember seeing a movie where only the cops and govt had guns…it was schindler's list

@jj-adams saidConcealability, portability?
You are right, I didn't know that.

Are you a genius?
@athousandyoung saidYou don't think that that is part of the point? Every dollar put into turning hall monitors into gun turrets is a dollar taken away from educating the pupils. And the Republicans rub their hands together and say: "Good, good... the plan is working."
