Let's face it, the fiscal cliff talk is nothing more than a talking point. Both sides are using this as a means of demagoguery and could really care less.

For example, the democrats have people convinced that the GOP is only interested in keeping tax rates low for the rich and the GOP has people convinced that the democrats have a spending problem. The truth, however, is that the GOP just passed one of the largest entitlements in US history with the Drug for Seniors program and began a costly war, and the Democrats just voted to extend the Bush tax cuts for the "rich".

So just for fun, how can the GOP spin talking points in their favor? Why not tell Obama that they want a tax deduction for the middle class? That way they can use the tactic of the war on the middle class against him. THen they could tally up all the taxes it would be required to be raised in order to balance a budget. I don't know what it would be but something tells me that the tax rate would be outrageous.

Does anyone know what taxes would have to be in order to balance a budget now days? They could use this number to destroy the spend thrift ways in Washington. The trouble is, however, I don't believe the GOP wants to reduce spending, even though they talk out of both sides of their arse to say otherwise.

Hope?

Mwhahaha.

My hope resides in my God, not these fools.

In the interim, I will just sit back and wait for the gun to be pointed at our collective heads to take more and more away from the American people, just like they did with the credit crisis. However, unlike the credit crisis, this is 100% manufactured in Congress. It's the price the country pays for surrendering the purse strings and subsequent power to the federal government

There is no number at which to tax to fix our deficit.

Come on now, there has to be a number to pay off the deficit. It may be insanely high, but their must be a number. We could even to it in a progressive fashion if you like, but there must be a number.

100% confiscation does not begin to address it.
