However, I have a complaint. The constant fake injuries are driving me CRAZY! What the hell kind of screwed up sport allows cheating (taking a dive) as part of game strategy!? Get rid of the faking injury aspect o ...[text shortened]... ericans would be interested in what would otherwise be a very entertaining sport.

I enjoyed it even less when the US WAS on the field! They got beat like 99 to 0 by them Czecs!

Far be it for me to sort of like want to shake anybody awake (I'm barely awake myself), but isn't US football more like rugby?

I mean...there's so little kicking involved and everyone runs around carrying and throwing the ball...

And calling it American football, when a majority of Americans (including South and Central America...obviously) actually play real football...

I don't know....

Soccer is not violent enough for the American appetite. Yes people can and do get hurt - sometimes quite badly - but the level of intentional brutality is nothing compared to football.

I'd watch soccer any day of the week, with pizza and beer thanks.

This seems a little strange given that the players all come padded to the hilt. You should try watching Australian Football, which uses no protective gear at all - that's right, NONE.

I think you're right Shav.
I'd put all football codes into a continuum, from pure foot work to lots of throwing.

Something like this:

Soccer ... Australian Rules ... Gaelic ... Rugby Union ... American Football ... Rugby League

Henceforth, the question:

Would you rather watch an NFL football game, or a soccer match?
I like american football 😀. Soccer was never a favority of mine--but I love hockey too.

Fish and chips are the best.
I love pizza but given the choice will always go for fish and chips first - with some nice potato cakes and dim sims. Yum!

There's more kicking in Rugby League than Union or Gridiron.

How can Gridiron have more kicking than Rugby League? You obviously know nothing of either!

You're right, I don't but neither of them are really football are they - the kicking is pretty much superfluous to the throwing.
