Former Fox News personas turning against Trump

Debates

I don't normally follow the goings-on at the wretched hive of scum and villainy known as Fox News, but a seismic shift appears to be in progress at least among a couple former Fox News talking heads who nowadays host their own podcasts and have quite large followings. Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly have both been harshly criticizing the illegal Iran war from day one, and this week they've dramatically intensified their attacks on Dear Leader.

Both personalities were huge Trump boosters in 2024, often taking the stage during MAGA rallies, and of course showering the Papaya Jabba with praise and adoration. And now? Well, as the saying goes, "All good things..."

So, Megyn Kelly had some particularly incisive words to share a couple days ago...

Megyn Kelly, who spent months campaigning for Trump, now says the president is ‘gullible’

Right-wing podcast host Megyn Kelly, who spent months campaigning for Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential election, now says the president is “too gullible to see through the lies” being told to him over Iran.

“What led Trump, at 79 years old, to sit in there, in that situation room, where Bibi Netanyahu was seated as an equal?” she fumed, in an interview with British commentator Piers Morgan on Wednesday. “What led him to sit there and buy what that guy was selling hook, line, and sinker when every other president was able to see through that liar?”

Kelly, a former Fox News host, continued: “I don’t know why he was too weak to say no… He was too gullible to see through the lies. One way or another, he allowed himself to be pushed into this insane conflict.”

On Tuesday, Trump threatened on social media that "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again,” if his demands for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz were not met. “I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” before backtracking.

The post prompted outrage on both sides of the political spectrum, including from MAGA stalwarts such as former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, and Kelly.

I am sick of this sh**. Can't Trump just behave like a normal human?” she said on The Megyn Kelly Show, in response. “Shut up. We are talking about threatening to wipe out innocent civilians casually in a social media post. This is completely irresponsible and disgusting.”

Oh Megyn, Megyn, Megyn—could you really not see, across the span a decade, that Trump is as far from being a normal human as Pee-wee Herman is from being the Pope?

Tucker Carlson, meanwhile, has gone a bit further, and is starting to sound downright insurrection-ey:
Carlson advised Trump's military aides to reject any plan to slaughter Iranian civilians, including through the potential use of a nuclear weapon.

"Now it’s time to say no, absolutely not, and say it directly to the president, no," Carlson said on his podcast.

If I were to have the ear of these two right-wing luminaries, I wouldn't dwell much on the I-told-you-so's. Yeah, they should've learned their history and seen the orange taint for the loathsome monster that he is right from the get-go, but at least they're waking up now. They're both still right-wing loonies, but that's an issue for another time.

Along with Marjorie Taylor Green.

You gotta know you're screwing up when your once-rabid fans start heading for the exit.

Candace Owens, Alex Jones, Joe Rogan

Mike Johnson and the rest of the republican rats won't abandon ship until it's crystal clear being associated with trump is at best political liability and at worst, suicide

It will take more than a few tweets but it's a start

We warned Iran , too. Not Trump's fault, they were given a chance. Even truman didnt warn Hiroshima. Sorry, I think I am on wrong thread

Funny how the TV hosts are getting worried enough to voice opposition to the dicktatorine, but his acolytes in this forum still stand up for him as if he’s get his grubby little mini-dick stuck up their arses.

Stormy Daniels says it's shaped like a stubby little mushroom—or something to that effect.

Actually, Trump sneak attacked Iran during negotiations.

Twice.

Why are they turning against him when it was always perfectly clear just how insane he is?

No-one should be surprised by Trump is doing.

The answer is of course self-interest. They know that at this point they have more to gain from distancing themselves from this train wreck.

They and Maduro knew Trump was coming. And he does not bluff. Probably with all of you and suzianne, you think his bouncing around and changing his mind in negotiations are lies. I have gotten to where I chuckle,,,,,so what if they are lies, no one cares. What he is DOING is something to care about. Tyr it.

It's the Iran thing. That was the line for some. Regime change in the Middle East brings on the PTSD.

Your messiah bluffs all the time. It's your extemely selective memory of what actually transpires in the real world that leads you to think otherwise.
