1. Why aren't we given a choice to stay in heaven rather than appear on earth ?
2. Is there free will in heaven ?

1. Because God chose earth to be the place where we can decide whether we want to go to Heaven or not. If he had put all of us in Heaven from the beginning then it would not be out of our own free will that we end up there. (Imagine if there were a bunch of people in Heaven that didn't want to be there). So basically Heaven is more than a place, it has more to do with the people, eg. a family are more the people than the place. It is like an identity. I would define "Heaven" as being a decision and a commitment done here on earth that starts on earth and is culminated after death.

2. The concept of the "free will" is rather an earthly concept. It has to do with whether you want to go to Heaven or not. In Heaven you would have a more of a "will" than a "free will" because then you would have already decided to be there and lived in a way that has earned you the privelage to be there.

Isn't Heaven also an earthly concept?

But it doesn't seem to be a very fair arrangement: we're supposed to decide whether we want to go to heaven or the other place, without getting to see what they're really like. if heaven is really all that it is cracked up to be, and hell is all pain and torment, i'm sure everybody except the odd masochist would choose the former if he/she was fully informed.

we are in heaven already, this is as good as it gets, if you want your 50 virgins go out and find them for yourself, not easy to come by in Aberdeen.

For many people Heaven is only an earthly concept. That is because their views are based on earthly concepts. They have not received the Revelation from the Holy Scriptures in which Heaven is explained.

In fact the Bible shows that we all deserve Hell. The only "fairness" would be for us all to go to hell. This cannot be fathomed by man until the until they grasp the concept of love and forgiveness. This is where Christianity surpasses any other religion. As for those who believe in the Islamic concept of "Heaven" with 50 virgins, I'm afraid they are going to get a very mean shock when they enter eternity...

And aren't you a heavenly object?

Well, that was what I was going to write, but then decided that sarcasm better fits my mood than complimenting:

But I can't think of anything sarcastic to say...

Move along people, nothing to see here!

I agree with you there. If there's supposed to be some sexual appeal about there being virgins in heaven then there wouldn't be many virgins left by the time you got there and the ones that were left might not be as attractive as you hoped. Also, if the virgins in heaven ended up getting pregnant and having babies, where would the souls of the babies come from ?

Oh, oh. Sounds like a Christian warrior to me, you mentioned the "I" word.
From my wordly travels and experiences with other religious groups "the concept of love and forgiveness" is not unique to Christianity.
Religion is a means of controlling the populous, period. Christianity has the added bonus of an "opt out clause" in every argument.

Free will. I agree v should have free will but there is a limit. Just because v have freewill doesn't mean go kill somebody. Free will should be allowed but not over the limit. I mean v can have free will for example expressing our emotions in a peaceful way.
