What do you think the state of the world will be in the future? (regarding anything you like eg middle east, computers taking over the world, global warming or another ice age)
I personally think the war in the middle east will be catastrophic, (even compared to what is currently happening) and global warming will reach such a state that america is hated for their policy (which will have to change) and bush will be looked back on as the man who did the most damage of this century...
However computers wont take over the world.
Sadam hussain will eventually be killed after serving the american's purposes of negotiating with the terrorists and making an exmaple etc

My predictions: As Europeans die out because of failed welfare state policies, gay marriage and secularization, Islam will rule the continent in another 20 years. America will be further isolated in the United Nations and will become isolationist. China and Japan will merge into one hive. India and Pakistan will have a nuclear exchange that will kill hundreds of millions. Global warming and peak oil theory will be discredited, causing the enviro-leftists to conjure up a new bogeyman: chemophobia. Real estate in New York City will become even more expensive.

Unless you meant it as a joke, in which case i apologise.
In the future, resource shortages will be of the utmost concern. Hopefully, we develop means to get them from other rocks(planets, moons) in the solar systems.
Terrorism will not be destroyed, no matter what the idiot Bush says. Hopefully, some jerk muslim fanatic doesn't get his hands nukes and blow them up on western countries(or any countries).
Russia and China might complain about UE and NATO expansions. Hopefully they won't complain to much.
Apart from that, most things will probably be the same.

China will have an unprecedented impact on the world; more than that of the anglophone hegemony of the past 250 years.
In the US and Europe, start getting used to seeing more Chinese writing, food, films and above all, people.
Sometime in the next 100 years Mandarin Chinese will take over from English as the global language.
Originally posted by ivangriceAh yes, the Blade Runnerfication of the United States. I don’t think it’s a sure bet. China will not continue to receive as much foreign direct investment as it has in the past and this will tap the brakes on their economic growth. Meanwhile, the United States is still the world’s leading economy and the Japanese are second. Also, when North Korea collapses, the Chinese will have a bigger problem salvaging this failed state than the West Germans did with their eastern cousins, and at a much greater expense. And let’s not forget about the potential for a Chinese pandemic. Can you say SARS? Avian flu? AIDS? Lastly, don’t be so quick to write off the United States. After all, they have Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola and the NBA in China, but we don’t even have so much as a national chain of Chinese restaurants here.

Have you looked at an atlas (a big book of maps. A map is a representation of other countries. Other countries are places which aren't the US.)
Look at the relative sizes of China and North Korea. Look at their relative economic positions.
Then look at a map of Germany, to see how ridiculous your comparison is.
Originally posted by RedmikePoor RedMike. As you’ve probably heard many times before, size doesn’t matter. In the scenario I outlined, China won’t be the only actor with an interest in what befalls North Korea.

Originally posted by mazziewagI saw a documentary about the future the other day. There will be robots that will drink beer and burp out flames, I think the robot's name was Bender. Well anyways, Bender and his friend named Fry will get into all sorts a wacky antics. As for the world, there will be one president and he will be president of earth. The weird thing is that Richard Nixon's head will be elected president. There will also be aliens living here on earth too. Oh and don't worry about global warming, a nuclear winter will cancel it out.

A glorious time, indeed.
