4/Not bound by traditional thinking.
You mean not bound by thinking. Traditional values are traditional because of how well they have served us to date,

You are arguing with a dictionaries definition~!
This isn't my personal opinion, did anyone see the source?
Merriam Webster...........Hello?
Is this a confederacy of dunces?

However, one might define "Oppose change and new ideas" as ..."If it aint broke, don't fix it."
Your 'Favoring reform" paragraph is all well and good, has a nice ring to it......But, Jimm61999, today's liberal thinkers and rabble rousers have a quite 'broader' definition, don't you think? - things are always changing and one has to adapt to changed circumstances.
- how come conservatives claim that only capitalism can drive innovation, when they claim the redeeming factor is if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?

Apply the 'aint broke dont fix it' adage to the real world of the USA. Of course some things are broke, need fixing. My example of the properly established border situation is a good example of a 'thing that aint broke'. The President screwed it up, really bad.
Now go ahead, I make a good point, you go lib on me and get off the track.

Capitalism usually tends to look ahead 6-8 quarters, which doesn't always serve the larger picture.
Governments can be a good driver. As long as they guide an economy instead of being the economy (which socialism tends towards and communism becomes).
Private-public partnerships usually work reasonably well.
Then you have Elon and Jeff, which go well beyond capitalism.
I'm rambling a bit here. But capitalism is not the be all and end all.
I think you tend to confuse private enterprise with capitalism.
