I've been told that I should abstain from any recreational drugs (i.e. marijuana) up to 7 days before receiving general anaesthesia. But I've yet to find any evidence, online, that tells me I should heed this advice.
Are there any doctors in the house?
Anybody go into surgery and smoke a joint or two up to a week before being put to sleep?

Are there any do ...[text shortened]... y and smoke a joint or two up to a week before being put to sleep?
Should you continue to feel the urge to light up invest in several dozen Hostess Cup Cakes, Twinkies, Ding Dongs or Moon Pies(your preference). It will be necessary to have at least one season of Jerry Springer Uncensored DVD's and a copy of Girls Gone Wild close at hand.
Failing this, it will be imperative that you find a massage parlor that will cater to you needs.
Should you injest, smoke or shoot up any recreational drugs your testicles will swell up to the size of oranges and your brain stem will shrivel upon the administration of anaesthetic. You shouldn't notice much of a change actually.
😏

You really want to be as healthy as possible when under going any surgery which needs such measures!
So, yes. No drugs or booze for 3 or 4 days before hand. Perhaps a little bit of sport in the run up the operation...

Okay, 3 days - starting NOW!

More importantly, why are you going under general? What sordid extraction operation are they performing this time? 😛
If you're wondering about my penis reduction, that will be taking place in the Spring. It ain't easy coiling your wang into a neat package every morning before putting your pants on.
Originally posted by darvlayWell it's certainly "high" time you got that taken care of. I'm sick of you waving that monstrosity around in the forums all day. It's embarrasing. And kind of makes me feel... inadequate.

Originally posted by darvlayNothing minor about having all 4 wisdom teeth removed. Pain, swelling, bleeding, my chest was badly bruised from the dentist kneeling on me to rip the little bastards out. Have plenty of ice and alcohol on hand for the recovery process.

Plus, while I was told this is normal, my @$$ hurt like you would not believe for a week after being put under. 😲

Anyway an ice pack will deal with the swelling. Under NO circumstances should you apply IcyHot Pain Reliever to the affected area regardless of the temptation.
