? I'll play. I simply answered your question. Is there some underlying gambit, was I supposed to ask you why you posted that? OK, why did you post that? My response was to suggest a more realistic sign that might appear at Mrs. Jones' living room where they play bridge. IF there were a sign, it more likely would say 'Jones Bridge Club', Members Only.

Do you know this 1971 song 'Signs"? One of my favorites

Here's a quick recap.
You extolled the virtue of Trump as a free trader to which I replied if he is a free trader who uses tariffs then he's talking out of both sides of his mouth, to which you introduced a strawman fallacy/analogy of your wife illegally trying to be a member of a bridge club, to which I tried to fix your strawman by introducing the statue of liberty's welcome call to bring the argument back to a country level debate, at which point you clung to your strawman....

You were innocent of this? Really?

Silly guy, feigning ignorance. In short, if a guy drops in on a bridge club without permission (illegal allien), he is not 'subject to' its laws. Are you still with me, you silly guy? It would follow, similarly, that if an alien drops in on us, he is not 'subject to' our laws. Oops, I think I just lost you.
Anyway, for everyone else reading this, the constitution says babies born to people under our jurisdiction are considered citizens. Since the alien and the guy crashing the bridge club have the same status in each case, NOT subject to jurisdiction, then the constitution is saying that a baby born to someone NOT under our jurisdiction is not considered a US citizen..
You are welcome , I do my best on the Forum. Ask Marauder, he will likely agree, but remember, he once said that drawing down the tuition loans would not cost our treasury any money.
Your strawman comment makes no sense to me. (BTW, it is not my wife trying to be in the Club, she is the President of the Club). Please re-write with the proper prognasticators, and tell us what the Liberty plaque has to do with this.

Nice pivot, but we were talking about Trump being a free trader who uses tariffs and the inherent contradiction that represents. But I suppose your belief in Trump says what? He can walk on water as well?

Does the club have a sign on the door that says...

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free"
"The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

This is what I saw. So d you want me to delve back into the world of Sonhouse and find your post?

@AverageJoe1I really am curious abut the plaaue relevance to tariffs. We lived on tariffs before income tax was even invented. I spect you know that, so what is your point.?
And I am always suspect of libs who think they know what the plaque meant, as the chains at her feet have nothing to do with our slaves

Mate I think you are experiencing some kind of cognitive meltdown. You brought up Trump as the free trading tariff weilding guru. You made that assertion. I commented and suddenly we were part of your wife's bridge club, from which we are doomed to never leave it seems.

Did not mean to not talk about it, he is the greatest negotiator in our lifetime, and I would hardly second guess him. What if he and the owner of a Brazil sugar plantation have an agreement that only Trump knows about, which, when thrown into a sugar negotiation with 4 countries in S America, Trump prevails with a tariff move that blows your mind??? I am serious. You see, Wildgrass thinks that Trump should tell us all of his plans, his thinking.. So, he should tell of us his deal with the Brazil guy? Do you get it now?
And, Why write about somethng that we know nothing about? Are you schooled in negotiations?? Boy that sonhouse must have an impressive record!!!!

Must have not connected the dots.
Hey save that bridge club analogy, I may be using it a lot with debaters who think babies of illegal alien invaders, not under our jurisdiction, are citizens. Maybe Scotus will clean that up soon enough. Dam, i think they are off in the summer. Hrry up!

Just saying, if you are for free trade, using tariffs to get there is dumb.

But you believe in Trump's business prowess. This is the same guy who couldn't make money running a casino. That guy!

I am a good biz man, i think. Some of my businesses failed, whatever. Some of your uncle Bill's may have failed. People can easily come back from failed businesses and be better for it. Learn from the experience.
So what better man to be our president with the experience of his other four years behind him. He and his entire administration walked in there and had to learn from scratch. Now he is doing the scratching.
Think about it. I know I learned a lot. no more pitfalls for AvJoe, or for Donald for that matter. You definitely should feel good about his respect around the world. One of the problems with liberals is that they do not understand the nature of the word respect,.. I imagine if you looked at it critically, Churchill respected Hitler
