Well I don't put the word odd in inverted commas, for a start.

I don't quite understand your point concerning the punctuation.

    Could you explain?

Your constant references to the 'British upper class' re: me, are completely wide of the mark. It has been a source of amusement to me. A classic case of a pompous American who reckons he knows a thing or two about "England" and yet gets baffled by standard British English usage, attributes erudition to wealth (maybe some kind of cultural cringe like various Australian commentators claimed Australians had in years gone past), who has not a clue about people's background but instead resorts to cliched stereotypes, and who claims to be fluent in irony and yet dashes himself on irony's slippery rocks almost every time he ventures out of Port Parochial.

    Jeeves?

    LOL.

    Jeeves?

    LOL.
Are we a bit sensitive, class wise?

Are we a tad snobbish in a sort of reverse way?

Is it unreasonable to tweak one over the clear use by that one of mannerisms that smack of exactly the sort of upper class Brit twitism to which I've been exposed with great amusement each of the many times I've been to, traveled through England?

Do we wear our less than upper class origins as a badge of pride, thus mistaking the tweaking to be related to class instead of to what an American sees as oddity?

I there any way one can "get" you, FMF?

Do you not appreciate how very odd you seem to most people?

Not that there's anything wrong with that, to quote Jerry Seinfeld.

Now. One wonders why you are worrying about what "most people" think of another poster. And one wonders why you are asking me what I think of it too.

Where are you going with all this contemplation of my navel?

It seems very Odd to me that you would want to change your avatar. However, i think a trout would be appropriate.

Oh do please give it a rest!

    LOL.

I read the stuff about Goldman Sachs. Interesting. But I have no comment on it. I cannot recall a thread you've started where it wasn't as plain as day that your ulterior motive was to amuse yourself by heaping hackneyed abuse on other people posting.

    LOL.

Scriabin announces... his new forum "persona". Got to love that!

    🙄

ON TOPIC BIT: Yeah. How about that thing with Goldman Sachs?. Wow. Go figure.

Do we detect disinterest due to distance? A bit of parochialism, not to say provincialism? By all means, why not give yourself a rest?
