Global warming/cooling is cyclic, its just that Owl Gore and some scientists have figured out a way to 'cash in' on it either by writing a book, making a movie or collecting government grants . Isn't capitalism wonderful... these folks are the modern version of the snake oil salesmen

How come only Americans seem to think that global warming is fake?

Ian Clark, hydrogeologist, professor, Department of Earth Sciences, University of Ottawa: "That portion of the scientific community that attributes climate warming to CO2 relies on the hypothesis that increasing CO2, which is in fact a minor greenhouse gas, triggers a much larger water vapour response to warm the atmosphere. This mechanism has never been tested scientifically beyond the mathematical models that predict extensive warming, and are confounded by the complexity of cloud formation - which has a cooling effect. ... We know that [the sun] was responsible for climate change in the past, and so is clearly going to play the lead role in present and future climate change. And interestingly... solar activity has recently begun a downward cycle.
Ian Plimer, Professor of Mining Geology, The University of Adelaide: "We only have to have one volcano burping and we have changed the whole planetary climate... It looks as if carbon dioxide actually follows climate change rather than drives it".
Philip Stott, professor emeritus of biogeography at the University of London: "...the myth is starting to implode. ... Serious new research at The Max Planck Institute has indicated that the sun is a far more significant factor..."
Hendrik Tennekes, retired Director of Research, Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute: "The blind adherence to the harebrained idea that climate models can generate 'realistic' simulations of climate is the principal reason why I remain a climate skeptic. From my background in turbulence I look forward with grim anticipation to the day that climate models will run with a horizontal resolution of less than a kilometer. The horrible predictability problems of turbulent flows then will descend on climate science with a vengeance."
I have more American and non American scientists to cite if you like

Earth is bombarded with rays (like Star wars laser guns, I presume).
The earth beams back these rays.
The less rays that get bombarded back, the warmer the earth gets.
CO2 and other things block the rays from escaping Earth's atmosphere and so the Earth is warming up, the more it heats up, the more CO2, the more CO2, the more it heats up.
Something like that. As you can probably tell... I ain't no scientist.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming#Causes
sort of explains the explanation I got at work (Yeah... sorry to disappoint you all, but I'm not really unemployed or living in a sewer... go figure...).
Well, figures, statistics and lies go hand in hand... however, I have seen Australia dry out. I have seen islands sinking into the Ocean. I have seen more flooding in Britain. I have seen the ice caps melting and breaking off.
So, no matter what scientists are saying, it certainly LOOKS like the Earth is heatin' up.
Goody. Is what I says to that!
Originally posted by shavixmirand I seen ice reforming in the Artic to greater levels than before we had the melting. Seen snow in Texas in March, a rarity... so I think the globe is cooling

Your not unemployed and living in a sewer? ... you prevaricator! We really really believed you all this time...... NOT

Snow in Texas and fires in California...
Never heard of the ice reforming in the Arctic though.

We can wait for the next volcano to erupt and mess up the climate some more ... evil volcanes. (smiles)

But mine's a whisky tonight...
Here's to balls of fire, floods and general mayhem!
Cheers.
