I may be drunk and watching the news, but this really cracked me up

"I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal,"
What is Bush doing here? Does he have PR groups advising him on how to look a little stoopid?

It depends on if he gave up all silly luxuries or just golf. He's not drinking anymore supposedly. No more cocaine. Does he do anything else that seems frivolous?

I've got four sons who have been over and I didn't stay at home and whine about it. You still have to live your life. You can't recede into a shell.

That's what leads me to wonder how much of the real Bush we really see... What's PR and what's he really like as a human being?

Roosevelt went to Warm Springs, GA, during WWII, Eisenhower played golf during the Korean war, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford played during the Vietnam conflict. Coming down on Bush isn't exactly fair is it? That's coming from someone who is so pissed at Bush right now i could puke.

Well, he's The Decider, apparently. Isn't that a frivolity, with Cheney as VP?

I get the impression he is an incurious, waspish, moody man - textbook "dry drunk" - and textbook inadequacy-meets-privilege - who can turn on a kind of charming ordinary-guy affableness when he's raising money.

If I were to sit down and write a 2 character stage play right now, I would steal the psychiatrist's office thing from The Sopranos, and have Bush in the patient's chair - rummaging through his oddly lopsided and rather sad life - while being psychoanalyzed by a vastly more substantial and well informed person in the part of the psychiatrist.

Take another look and see what congress is doing. I am sure that they are not losing any sleep because of the mess the United States is in.
