Kriek is a Belgian beer fermented with sour (also called Morello) cherries. Traditionally "Schaarbeekse krieken" (a rare Belgian morello variety) from the area around Brussels are used. Kriek is a Dutch word for sour cherry. As the Schaarbeek type cherries have become more difficult to find, some brewers have replaced these (partly or completely) with other varieties of sour cherries, sometimes coming from other countries.

There is a difference between French and Belgian fries though .... Belgian fries are bigger and much more tastier.
