That should be the peak of ignorance...even we in Europe equal Trump with lies and with blatnat and overly stupid ones ... If he told me that it was Wednesday today I would put out my calendar and check...twice.

Republicans are filibustering so no. There's a 60-vote threshold until Republicans remove their objection.
that is not the only way

The American political system is completely broken.

How the hell is it possible that a small group can hold the whole government hostage? How is it possible that all these bills have multiple issues and are all tied in together?

What sort of madness would make scoring political points more important than keeping the country running?

Seriously. You yanks need to cha ...[text shortened]... tem. And I presume booting Florida, Texas and Mississippi out of your country would be a good begin.
maybe you should mind your own business and deal with your drug and perverted sex habits

Did Trump lie frequently or didn't he?

Covefe anyone. He couldn't even admit a typo....

Dear Joe - I'm afraid your post misses some important points.

1. Mitch McConnell voted to raise the debt ceiling several times when Trump was in office; now when Joe Biden in in office Mitch is (all of a sudden) concerned about the national debt, and will not vote to raise the ceiling.

2. Joe Biden's is not trying to borrow 5 trillion dollars. The bulk of this spending ...[text shortened]... lls. I don't recall Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Steve Jobs, or Howard Schultz having those problems.
I agree. Also, comparing the government to a business is comparing apples to oranges. The government does not earn money. It is not a business. It does print currency. It taxes citizens to pay for goods and services that benefit the citizenry, ie: infrastructure that promotes the health and welfare of the nation and helps businesses succeed. Over the past 70 years, that means that child care so parents can work, access to higher education and training and access to the Internet are all needed for our country to grow and prosper. In 2020, Amazon and many other large corporations legally paid zero in federal taxes. Disgraceful. Warren Buffet is in a lower tax bracket than his secretary. Disgraceful.

name me one person that hasnt lied...

I have a problem when those lies cast lives or livelihood, such as biden lying about the afghanistan withdrawal costing 13 young men their lives.

do you really think the democrats are going after the super rich?

Are you talking about ending filibuster rules? That seems extreme and unnecessary. Republicans don't need to vote for it. All they need to do is remove the objection.

Maybe they're purposely trying to tank the stock market and the US credit rating so Joe Biden looks bad?

All of past govt activities pale in comparison to what is happening, i will just say that up to now, all of that borrowing is standard operating procedure with positive results, ..all of trumps moves created millions of jobs. Note that you conveniently omitted that part, as Biden’s economy is going in the other direction, no jobs because no one wants to take a job because ...[text shortened]... ay for the 5 trillion. Do you think he’s only going to tax the rich folks? Do you really think that?

Rebuilding and repairing millions of miles of roads and bridges will create a great many good paying domestic jobs that many people will want. I live in a deeply liberal state, and those jobs are in great demand here.

- You're 100% wrong about this.

Wait, I clearly said we need to improve bridges, infrastructure.....I said above..."Give me a shovel". You got me wrong there.
Also, there are jobs, and then there are government jobs. Ole AvJoe is more interested in the real jobs. Do you know that Pelosi said, when asked about her taxing small business, that they need to expect to not raise their prices. She said that. Tell the businesses in your deeply liberal state that they are about to pay more taxes, but Pelosi tells them to just suck it up. Do not try to keep their revenues afloat. That, she needs the taxes to fund her $5T.
Unelievable.

Phranny says the government does not earn money. She says government is not a business. She can parse all she wants, but in fact, the government , VIA tax revenues, receives revenues to pay their bills. A business needs revenues from sales to pay their bills.
So that clarifies that, which is why businessmen need to run the government. Seriously...Bernie as president? Do you know that he never had a job until he was 40, and I wonder even about that job.
Everything else Phranny says is correct, of course, except for the word disgraceful. She left that hanging.

you are spreading false information...

"Democrats are already planning to use a parliamentary tactic known as budget reconciliation, which enables them to pass budget-related legislation with a simple majority vote in the Senate, for upwards of $3.5 trillion in public works and social spending, though there is no intraparty consensus over the ultimate size and scope of the package."

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/can-democrats-raise-the-debt-ceiling-alone-and-avert-a-market-meltdown-11627672206

Democrats dont want to own it, that is all.

Trump did his stuff without blatant lies. Biden is lying unbelievably, and one is 'no tax increase on those under $400K.
So, a blatant liar. Write back ad nauseum about Trump lies, but all I can say to that is, we'd best be aware of today's president, not yesterday's.
You know, some lies are almost innocent, let's call them wishful thinking,,,,,,,like Biden s ...[text shortened]... ted (as did Bush saying read my lips) he promised no new tax. Now THAT was a lie, meant to deceive.
Trump did his stuff without blatant lies.

Oh really??

So, when is Mexico going to pay for Trump's border wall construction?

When is COVID 19 going to just "go away??"

What about those checks with Trump's signature on them to Stormy Daniels he claimed he "knew nothing about??"

He couldn't release his tax returns because they were under audit - There was no record of an IRS audit of his tax returns.

How about the one where he claimed "Windmill noise causes cancer"

Then there was his health plan that "was coming in 2 weeks" - 5 years later and we're still waiting for that one!

Where have you been living - Under a rock??
