Just a thought. All signs would suggest it. Absense of god, strife, misery. Although there are many things that bring happiness, are we just desensitised to the evil going on around us every day and have just come to take it as normal? Do we just take pleasure where we can find it. What makes us go on and ignore the pain and suffering in the world. Do we point fingers at others who are in a pitched battle to save a soul and laugh. Is it human nature to turn away when we see others over come by the strong and feel superior because it is not us? Why does religion which strives to bring us together tend to drive us apart.

Life is about procreating and keeping alive to do just that.
If matters draw our attention away from these things, our brains tend to turn off, to protect ourselves.
