I'm lucky to have girls driving now, with good grades and both took drivers ed. They get a discount on auto insurance.
with heart disease the leading cause of death in America, why don't we get discounts for being in shape? having never been a smoker, one would think there is merit there? why should the public be treated as one entity, when others throw caution to the wind? Smoking drinking and eating like a hogs at the trough?
The benefit to living a healthy life should be rewarded?
Tread mill tests, body fat measurements are one way to get discounts??

You could break that subject down for ever.
Originally posted by Hugh GlassIts simple really. Everything costs money and someone will have to pay. It all boils down to whether you want people to pay for themsevels, in which case they will curb their bad behavoir and/or make the best of bad situations, or you want society to pay for their bad behavoir or bad luck, in which case they could care less about the costs they are incurring and conduct themsevles accordingly.

Originally posted by KazetNagorraThat may not be a bad idea. Put your money in a bank, and use it as needed. It would work, until you were seriously ill. Most auto insurance will pay for hospitalization from an accident. But cancer, and other things would wreck the plan. If you were lucky, and used restraint in spending monies from your account, perhaps you could travel to a country that offered cheaper medical care. I know some people who go to mexico, and have things done. They seem happy. It may be a crap shoot. Also, aqny money saved should be before tax, and maybe a penalty for using it for anything else.
Make your own insurance company and try it out!
All I am saying, is people take risks, and that can be at the expense of all of us.
Is that right?
