Solar and wind are part of the answer to clean energy. Batteries along with the surface area required by both is a problem. We need to look at nuclear power plants. Gates has funded extensive research into using liquid sodium to keep rods cool. This would be a far safer option than water. https://www.terrapower.com/

"More efficient'' is a loaded term. A battery wants to take in it's full charge in a short amount of time.
They are already pretty efficient in terms of say installing 10 kilowatt hours in a battery and you will get very close to that out so the efficiency is not that big a deal.

The big deal is handling increased temperatures as the amount of energy is pumped in at ever higher levels of power.

If you want to say pump up a 100Kwhr battery in say 5 minutes you have to be able to pump in 12 times that 100kw level for 5 minutes, or 1.2 MEGAwatts running for 5 minutes.

That is a significant level of energy flow, say 1000 volts at 1200 amps for 5 minutes.

So if you have a 200Kwhr battery with that charger it would take 10 minutes and so forth.

so a 50 Kwhr battery could be charged in 5 minutes with a 'mere' 600 Kilowatts flowing for that 5 minutes.

A lot of engineering work needed to keep the heat load as low as possible.

I'm happy to see it. Much progress has been made in this area lately, and I look forward to more.

I'm not happy with our right wing's nonsensical insistence on subsidizing our oil and coal industry. Giving away our tax dollars to companies that produce the most expensive an ecologically destructive power in this country makes no more sense than subsidizing companies that make buggy whips oxen yokes.

why on earth would you write something worth reading to end it with toxic cr*p, fair go, is that so you can call it a debate.
