BAGHDAD - American convoys under the protection of Blackwater USA resumed on Friday, four days after the U.S. Embassy suspended all land travel by its diplomats and other civilian officials in response to the alleged killing of civilians by the security firm.
It's a war where there's army on one side and a bunch of civilians with explosives strapped to their babies, women and men on the other.
So the army doesn't want to be the one to take a fall so they hire mercs to do the dirty work of enforcing hard lines like, "When we say stop or we'll shoot" they mean it.
Mercs are as essential to warfare as the real military. They don't really have to obey any laws, just avoid TV cameras.
