He had 3 chances and each were cancelled at the last minute because of concerns of killing innocent people and the backlash that would have resulted.

Democrats don't want to kill 1 bad guy if it means killing 10 innocent people.

Republicans don't mind killing 10 innocent people if it means killing 1 bad guy

This is like some kind of zen koan isn't it? Perhaps it would make more sense if you added the following:

Democrats don't want to kill 1 bad guy if it means killing 10 innocent people or even if it means over 3,000 of our own will be killed.

The Dems did not know planes would be flown into the Pentagon and Trade Towers.

If you are suggesting they did, then they either didn't tell Bush or they did tell Bush and he didn't do anything in the year he was in office before the attacks happened.

The answer, of course, is the Dems didn't know.

But Clinton told Bush the first week Bush took office that not capturing Bin Laden was his greatest regret and that Bush should make it his #1 priority. The Rep's ignored it and treated Al Q as a minor irritant.
