Here are some recent polls about Obama's performance as of April 2010.
Terrorism: 37% Disapprove 50% approve
Afghanistan: 35% disapprove and 49% approve
Iran: 42% disapprove and 41% approve
Economy: 53% disapprove and 42% approve
Job creation: 54% disapprove and 40% approve
Health care: 53% disapprove and 40% approve
Federal deficit: 62% disapprove and 31% approve
Now to look at things overall, 13% are enthusiastic about his performance, 34% are satisfied, 25% are dissatisfied, and 27% are very upset. In short, 52% are not happy as where 47% are happy.
Looking at these poll numbers, it appears that the only issue people are happy with involve his forieng affairs policies as where pretty much every domestic policy is negatively viewed by the majority.
So what needs to be done to save the Obama presidency? Obviously jobs will need to be created to help him in 2012, but outside of that what else needs to be done? Even Obama admits that the current fiscal policies are not sustainable, so what must be changed and when?

Originally posted by FMFThe good part for Obama is that people still seem to "like" him. For example, if you polled people as to whether they favor a repeal of the congressional democrats health care plan more would favor a repeal on average than if you asked them if you favor repealing Obama's health care plan. Obama is still more popular than the Congressional members. In fact, there has never been a lower rating for Congress than there is currently.

Originally posted by FMFTo be honest, I am a little surprised that his poll numbers are not lower. So in that regard, is doing "OK". I just can't see him winning in 2012 if things do not change and poll numbers remain the same, so what needs to change do you think?

Part of his problem is Congress. Why are they so negatively viewed do you think? In fact, if this continues through 2010, Obama will be a lame duck.
Originally posted by FMFNo doubt, he has covertly passed legislation over the weekend that changed the Presidential election from every 4 years to every 6 years that I did not hear about. It would not surprise me. My only question is why doesn't he just declare himself emporer Hugo Chavez style!!???
He's not standing for re-election till 2014.
Originally posted by whodeyhow well do polls correlate with election results anyway. voting is voluntary for you guys , so how much of that poll negativity translates into swings for or against a politician or party?
