Apart from the fact that it seems Israel was lying regarding the circumstances (being shot at by militants mixing with the women) and the contrary news footage, here is my question. Should the Israeli army be ashamed for shooting women or should the Palestinian militants be held accountable.
It's appalling that the question is even asked. Israel bears the entirety of the moral responsibility for every single innocent it has murdered. Collective punishment might be de rigeur in oppressive dictatorships, but progressive liberal democracies are supposed to aspire to a higher moral standard.

This sounds like a raid gone bad. The women by their own admission put their men in garb to hide them and make a break for it. I missed the part where the women had been shot in the back, can you highlight it for me in the article? Thanks. I don't know if Hamas or Israel is right, but I don't expect the fighting to stop for a while/ever. Both groups trace their lineage back to Abraham, and over the years I've observed the worst fights are among family's. Even extended ones. You see again and again suicide bombing vs. army attack. Who is right?
I don't think it's about right or wrong anymore. I think that it has become a war of attrition. I think that's rather sad because I had such high hopes a decade ago when Clinton was in office and the "Roadmap for Peace" was established. All the hopes from that time seem so...so lost. It's really sad.
