Mental decline issues and I have been saying all along SOMETHING is causing the dumbing down of humans, it is not ALL Trump's fault there are so many Trump zombies.
To me it is another symptom of the dumbing down of America at least.

It might be that intelligence comes in waves, where we NEED to have more brains to say drive a car, where stuff can happen in one tenth second time frames so the entire driving set of people are getting neurons added to be able to do the stuff of modern life.
Like just figuring out a frigging remote control, takes some problem solving, of course not deep but new things pop up every day we have to deal with, like those pop off cand of food, you have to figure out the tab on top pulls back to get the food.
Of course simple stuff but one after another after another of these little problems and it might mean the average intelligence goes up to match the needs of people.
But like you say, video games have pluses and minuses in the brain department.
Covid however, is being shown to have long term mental problems, and that includes lowered ability to solve problems.
What has me worried about covid is the absolute number of folks worldwide who have contracted the disease and more to come in the future and a good portion of them will find themselves walking around in a brain fog.
