And now you've scored two more by suggesting that you may have unintentionally scored one (or two) in the first place, by not attempting to do so.

Makes perfect sense.

If I were superstitious I'd say California has been under a blessing lately. Everywhere else is getting smitten but CA is like a paradise lately.

Knock on wood. I'll be eating crow when the super earthquake hits and sinks CA into the Pacific...🙁

It turned out to not be much of an event for us. Didn't even lose power for a moment.

Well the USA demands a lot of money from CA. It might be hard to pay Arizona's welfare check. We might need some help for stuff like that. Also we have all of your extremely impoverished homeless. The USA is expensive for CA. If any "bail out" is needed, it would simply be that we stopped paying the Feds and therefore the various welfare states.

Best wishes to those RHPers preparing to brave Hurricane Irene.

"She" will be straying into areas not as used to these things as places further south. I hope all members of this community who'll be affected this weekend emerge relatively unscathed.
In August of 1954 I was spending my summer with my grandmother in Rockport, MA north of Boston. Carol, a Cat3, made quite a stir up there, and less than a month later, Edna also a Cat3 ran almost the same track.

A hurricane, any huricane can do damage in any number of ways, but this one seems to have been over hyped.

All right, seriously, people?

A few "thumbs down" votes were bizarre and/or to be expected, but four? What the hell is wrong with you people?

According to Glenn Beck, Hurrican Irene--now responsible for at least nine deaths, among other damages--is "a blessing."

Apparently Michele Bachamann had similar thoughts... or not?

And yet, even if she had been joking, is it really tactful to joke about a natural disaster that has killed some 20+ people?
