Pence stood on principle and continued the certification of the election, despite an apparent attempt to shunt him out of the picture so that the election could be resolved by the House.
McConnell and McCarthy knew Trump had done something very wrong and subversive, but did not oppose it -- preferring instead to let the Democrats do what they should have done.

Pence stood tall when it counted.
I feel that Liz Cheney is doing the same thing now.

@kevin-eleven saidPence may have supported gay conversion therapy, illegally used campaign funds to pay his golf tournament fees, credit cards, mortgage, and made numerous false statements as VP....

Pence may have helped an open racist who denigrated Mexican immigrants and called to ban Muslims, said he'd kill the families of suspected terrorists and would use torture "a lot worse than waterboarding" win the highest office in America, and still supports a president who incited a violent insurrection......
But hey, he drew the line at not single-handedly overturning a free and fair election that even his own administration's DOJ said was the "most secure in history". So yeah, he gets my vote too.

Pence may have signed one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country while governor and banned the use of fetal tissue for medical reasons (requiring they be buried or cremated instead), he may have signed laws making it legal to discriminate against LGBTQ people, blocked Syrian refugees from settling into his state.....
But he stopped short of unilaterally undoing the will of the most voters in U.S. history, so kudos to him.
@kevin-eleven saidhe had one line he didn't cross. Are we forgettinghow much of a Trump minion he was until that point?

This is what the republican party is now? Praising war criminal Cheney and his daughter and this homophobic piece of turd for deciding "I don't quite have the stomach for flat out destroyingAmerican democracy".
They are not heroes. They are the same vile scumbags they were until that point they just didn't have the stomach to go full dictatorship in the US. Or they are saving themselves for a better dictator
@zahlanzi said"Yeah, he did all kinds of scumbag things, but hey, he once did exactly what he was supposed to do, so let's give him a medal."

Sorry, still not buying it.
@suzianne said3 Strikes and you're out.
They're both still Republicans, so there's something else going on under the hood.
Being a Republican only means they're
starting with 2 strikes....
Good men may differ,
I agree w/ Pence and Cheney on NO issues but,
give them credit when they do the right thing.
@jimm619 saidIf you only do the right thing when it's the only option left for you to take, you're not doing the right thing. Pence never chose to disagree with Trump, he was forced to. Had he had any other viable choice, he'd have taken it.

Giving Pence credit for not decertifying the election is like praising Bernie Madoff for not stealing even more money while he was already in jail. He's not doing it for the greater good, he's doing it to stop himself from sinking even deeper into the cesspit he deserves to drown in.

@vivify
Yes, Pence ULTIMATELY saved our sorry asses but only after looking VERY carefully
looking for any way he could screw the democracy and maintain his religious stance and it was only after he met with another former VP, Dick Chaney, a dude I intensely disliked ATT but he told Pence Don't do it, don't even THINK about doing it, so Dick had to REALLY talk Pence down from killing democracy.
Pence was all for it till then, he was searching for ways to do it till he met Chaney.

I would never vote for him. He is a puppet of the establishment. He only went against Trump because it was best for his career. All this "how noble is Mike Pence" crap is retarded. Pence did what was best for Pence.
