I think you mean Adolf.
Fuehrer is a title, meaning "leader" in German.
Most people don't name their kids Adolf anymore, just like Judas isn't very popular in Christian circles.
Hussein is a very common name in the Islamic world.
Yes I know Hussein is a common name...kind of like Fuerher seems to be.
Originally posted by AThousandYoungI don't know any Husseins personally, but I do see the name quite often on TV.
I can honestly say I run into it just as much as I do Hussein. Both are rare but I do see them now and then. I'm in Los Angeles. Where are you?
I grew up in Southern California (tried to avoid LA) and didn't run into any Fuehrers. I've lived in Texas, Colorado and Oklahoma and haven't run into and Fuehrers in any of those states either.
Originally posted by EladarWell, Germany isn't really on the news much. It's not the early 20th century any more.

Originally posted by AThousandYoungOK this is just weird. Both are rare? Hussein is as common as Smith or Jones among Middle Easterners , I've run into many people with that name. But Fuerher? . Never heard of the name before.

Originally posted by Sam The ShamThey're equally common in my very limited experience. But who cares?

The question stands whether or not the two names are equally likely.
