How many of the right wing stalwarts on debates, still think of Alex Jones and InfoWars as a source of truth? I'm looking at you Metal Brain, Mott the Hoople, Average Joe and Contentious. There are others who don't post as much any more, but there was a time, around 20 years ago when a much younger Alex Jones established his street cred by infiltrating Bohemian Grove and surreptitioisly filming the Cremation of Care, and exposing the secretive doings of the Bilderberg group, that even I thought he was really on to something, and was willing to listen to his conspiracist ramblings, especially in the aftermath of 9/11. For fun and giggles I also entertainted David Icke's world view, I mean Royalty as lizard people it doesn't get much better than that, but with time Jones became a parody of himself where his only concern seemed to keep you baited on the hook(pun intended), in order to flog supplement snake oil promising just about everything including but not limited to protecting your very life essence.
In the aftermath of Sandy Hook as a black flag psyop perpetrated by actors to get your guns, the possibility that Alex Jones was less about talking truth to power and more about curating content for his cult of the deep state, to effectively sell more snake oil, became all too apparent and what had started as an innocent pursuit not to be taken too seriously had rapidly metastasised into a recalibrated world view where up or down no longer held their traditional meaning.
Given that the perspectives shared by the aforementioned hard core column of American posters in Debates clearly echo the Alex Jones/InfoWars mindset and talking points, is it possible to extricate yourself from this cult of resistance and not attempt to join every dot to create a narrative where none exists. Its no longer just a quirky point of view. Jones really laid a firm foundation of alternate facts on which My Pillow Guy's Mike Lindell and a host of vaccine hesitant experts now stand. For sure other right wing pundits have influenced this genre, like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bill O Reilly etc, but in terms of mining the motherlode and taking deep state explanations mainstream, much is owed to Alex Jones. Can anyone who has tasted of his wine, ever enjoy a cold one again without looking over their shoulder imagining the worst?

Well said. 👍
I never listened to Alex Jones talk.
From what I have read from news headlines and posts like yours I know enough that he isn't worth a bag of turds.
He may have some points that I can agree with about other topics but his Sandy Hook bullshyt has made me stay away from anything related to him and his ridiculous comments.
I'm a Ben Shapiro follower. 😉
@kmax87 saidI cant remember ANYONE ever using jones as a source or talking point for ANYTHING.

@mott-the-hoople saidForeign media picks the worst American news and adds an extra negative twist so those watching think the good ole USA is some horrible place.

It sells papers...so to speak.
Check out BBC news. 😉
@contenchess saidLove Ben Shapiro "and" Jordon Peterson. Love Jordon's 2 min clips.

@shavixmir saidI believe he has many good points, though I do not always agree, I mainly do, and BTW, he is bloody intelligent.
Jordan Peterson is a self-help loony.
Pseudo-science for incels.
Even the one good point he has, about political correctness gone mad, he argues from a wrong angle.
Oh, but he does think he’s intelligent. Ugh.
@shavixmir saidNot worth debating that, ok. Manipulating people to take personal responsibilities for their own lives, got it.
No. He’s manipulative.
Edit, lets hope he succeeds.
@kmax87 saidThis American Life did a takedown piece on Jones a few years ago. Made his childhood basically sound like Dexter Morgan with a touch less blood. It was one of the most entertaining hit pieces I've ever heard.

Aside from anything else, I can never take anything he says seriously after getting a view of that closet.
@shavixmir saidHardly a contradiction. All successful pundits are manipulative. You can't produce soundbites short enough to generate views on Twitter and TikTok without being manipulative.
No. He’s manipulative.
Peterson's rants are far more thoughtful than 99% of what you see from TV talking heads.
@jimmac saidJordan Peterson, like Elon Musk and Jacob Rees Mogg, is a stupid person's idea of what a highly intelligent person is. In fact, all they are is good at throwing the bull.

@shallow-blue saidAs obnoxious as I think he is you do have to admit Musk actually does invent stuff.

@shallow-blue saidI think people underestimate how deep in Alex Jones really is and how many people like Tucker Carlson use him like a weather vane.
As for the main question in the OP... apparently, Tucker Carlson does. Thinks he's a great journalist. Which means that pretty soon all the usual suspects on this forum will claim that they've always known Alex Jones is a hyper-intelligent defender of freedom and the American truth.
