If Someone Breaks Into the USA, What should the Punishment Be?

Debates

This subject should be an opportunity to clarify a few stances.
Several posts, like the Venezuelan matter, suggest we need to help their socio-economic status. We, in the USA, need to consider the world in Venezuela?
If someone robs a 7/11, we do not minimize their punishment because they are broke.
Or, do we?

It's just a paperwork problem. There should not be a punishment.

Depends on the situation. All are different, and it is difficult to make a hard and fast rule for these things. In the case of Venezuela, the Chavez socialist party won by a landslide because the people were greedy and shortsighted. Chavez promised to take land and property from the expats, landowners and business community and distribute it to them. I would chase them all back to Venezuela unless it was possible to prove they did not vote for a socialist party. If you are a socialist/communist .. GTFO.

Punishing people for not voting for you has never been a thing in America... for obvious, Constitutional reasons. People must remain free to vote for who they want to vote for, withOUT coercion.

In case you haven't noticed, America is not a 7-11.

This is why I say don't quit your day job. Your analogies suck.

Sorry, that analogy was a real brain drainer.
