I recently started a thread in the general forum called 'What have I done?' which I suggest you read in full as background to debate.

The idea behind it is explained fully on page two.
I am interested to continue the topic by asking if a)people consider their natural reactions to infidelity likely to be clouded by association with the subjects of that infidelity, and b) What people's views on infidelity are.
For my own part, I am against cheating in a relationship and would never do it myself. However I do see that sometimes there are unfathomable situations surrounding the act and possibly forgiveness or a second chance etc, is not unsuitable. Your views please.

Prior to 30, while I had several long term committed relationships, I spent a lot of time trying to thoroughly exhaust every possible sexual technique, position and perversion. This experitation was done using the most scientific quantitative and qualitative methods. While pleased with the results of my research and development program, I have concluded that I am far happier in a committed, monogamous relationship with a woman I truly love and would give my life for. Hence, cheating is out of the question.
Relationships are fundamentally about honesty and trust, if you can't do that you aren't in a relationship.

I think infidelity is highly messed up, but to some extent understandable because people don't play enough while they are single
I think it would help if people were open and accepting of their need to be (ethical and honest) sluts and let loose at times before marriage. HoH describes the perfect sexual life and evolution through life to me.

A drunken one off session with genuine regret may heal.
A planned cheating affair will not.
Don't think your partner won't get hurt if they don't find out.
Open marriage is no marriage.
I you are not happy in your relationship be honest and assess if it is worth sticking it out.
Don't ever hang on for the kids sake..that makes everyone miserable,
Bonnie Raitt said (something like)... You have to have had a broken heart to understand the blues... Nothing breaks hearts like cheating.
I envy singles who have the ability to honestly and openly see/date several other singles at the same time.. never had that "polydatability."
