You guys should really read this. Its by a magzine thats about religious satire. Even though its meant to be a joke, I thought it made some interesting points. What do you think?

Jesus said that the devil is a lier and cannot tell the truth. The devil lied in that "interview" a few times.

For a good interview with Satan check out Walter Kaufmann's book Critique of Religion and Philosophy. In it he has three short dialogues in "Satanic Interlude or How to Go to Hell," that are hilarious. The first is "Dialogue Between Satan and a Theologian;" the second, "Dialogue Between Satan and a Christian;" and the last, "Dialogue Between Satan and an Atheist." They are short (about 5-10 pages each) and right on.

If you want funny, there's a much funnier interview with Jesus after the shooting of the Passion that "The Onion" did.

If you want philosophical, then I recommend The Screwtape Letters by Clive Staples Lewis.

Cool article, and cool magazine. I hadn't heard of that
one before. I like the speeding fish logo on the current
issue's front page. It reminds me of RBHILL. He should
consider making that his forum avatar.

yeah well, he would say that wouldn't he! They're enemies, oposited if you will. He's hardly going to say "listen to Satan, he's got a few good points" 😉

Are you saying that Jesus is not telling the truth?

Well, I wouldn't say Jesus lied, but...
There is that whole: "I am the son of God" statement like thing that he mentioned.
Admittadly, he was probably drunk at the time. And hell knows, I've been known to make much worse statements when inebriated, but it is at least a slight exaggeration...

And then there's the Mary Magdelene debacle. Denial through-out. Tsssss.....

Some call him god, others call him a false prophet, others still called him misguided (Good old Pilate for one). I think he was just a cunning politician...and they all lie!

no, I'm saying that no one would say that their opposition might be worth listening to. Would Bush say "That Kerry fella, he's got quite a few good ideas that you won't hear from me"? Would Nokia advertise that Erikson had phones that were better than theirs in some respects? No.

I'm saying that when anyone says the opposition isn't to be trusted and isn't worth listening to you must take into account that they are from a biased point of view.

"Dialogue between Satan and an Atheist"?
I bet that was a REALLY short book!

Well the three dialogues are all in a chapter of his book, Critique of Religion and Philosophy

But yes while all three dialogues are pretty short, the one with the atheist is particularly so (like 4 pages or so). It has a surprising ending that's pretty ironic, but I won't spoil it.
