lol

I say we don't even have to speculate. It's a matter of time. It's like the gun issue. I don't worry about the nukes and missles. I worry about the guy whose life is dedicated to establishing allah's government on earth using all means at his disposal, knowing that he is covinced that everything he believes in hinges on gods return AT ARMAGEDDON. That is the goal.

The real question is.... Who is in charge? Those who want secular power? Or those who BELIEVE that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the rightful tool to bring about gods government on earth?

I say that by the time we silly humans decide who is in charge, New York will probably be a glow-in-the-dark getaway for rats.

For the sake of argument, lets say that Holland wanted nuclear weapons... would you be OK with that?

Yes I guess so. I am of the opinion that in the next 100 years, everyone who wants them WILL have them. It is just the nature of our species. What was once difficult becomes easy. Lord knows there is enough material floating about.

I have to use the same logic as anyone who owns and knows the purpose of guns in self-defense. It is pointless to outlaw weapons because outlaws don't obey laws. It seems ever more the case as weapons get larger and more powerful.

Do you think that it is worth trying to stop Iran from getting them then?

Not really. If they use them, it will hasten armageddon.(edit) And I don't see that as a bad thing... in a smoldering-ember-leftover-persia kind of way. If they don't then what good do they do them? Is a threat any good if you can never use the threat? The UN proves that point. It works both ways.

If they don't use them then it is just a matter of time until their primitive notions of religion are swept away like the religion of "communism" was.

Which isn't logiacal at all, but a mis-concept by Americans.

That's kinda strange logic - don't have laws because criminals will only break them?

I think Libya is a good example where a regime supporting terrorism and seeking weapons of mass destruction can be persuaded to give up such ways, though there is a possibility this is because they saw the allies raping Afghanistan and Iraq and thought, 'hmm, no thanks, we'll play along sir!', rather than simply having an epiphany and wishing to atone for their previous illegal stance.

You think a show of force by the US would help in the Iran situation?

Other than it tips the balance of power in the region by creating a second superpower (by mid east standards) and then we have additional problem of allowing a terror backing nation to have nukes which leads to how do we stop them from building a suitcase nuke? The answer is that we can't. Not if they have the ability to process their own nuclear material.

Given that the current Iranian government (mullahs) has used their proxies (Hezbullah) in the recent past (Lebanon, Khobar Towers) and argueably still continue (Iraq) to attack America and its allies (Israel, Saudi Arabia) the suitcase nuke issue is potentially a life or death issue. The only way to be sure they don't develope one is to stop the nuke program altogether.

So who decides what countries can have nuclear weapons? What if they decided that the US should not have them?
