you should watch this documentary of Lawrence of Arabia , for it is excellently researched and well put and shows the betrayal of the Arabs at the hands of the colonial powers which has fomented a distrust to this day. There are many parallels drawn with the occupation of Iraq and it seems that the neo cons have learned nothing. Its freely available on BBC i player and is narrated by a former British deputy governor of Iraq, Rory Stewart.
