How does this affect whether or not the US should leave Iraq immediately? Clearly our troops are not an "occupying power" or anything like that.[/b]
Invading country decides to leave troops there.
What part of "occupying power" is the hardest for you to understand?
Zebari is a Kurd; the Kurds want the US troops to stay indefinitely so they can gain de facto independence from Iraq. His opinions are out of line with most Iraqis who have consistently voted for the parties that have supported a US withdrawal ASAP as opposed to those who were Western supporters (like Allawi and Chalabi).
