Would it be okay for the Iraqi insurgents to torture a pilot that had been shot down? I mean he was bombing them, so that should make it okay, right?
No, it wouldn't be ok.

Torture is torture, whether its done at Guantanamo, a police station in London or by freedom fighters in Iraq.

Randomly killing innocent people by (suicide) bombers to spread fear and terror among the population is also morally not acceptable.

Within reason. I'd be more in favor of a Pentothal-style solution, but the end definitely justify the means.

You know, whether it makes it ok or not, I cannot help but associate the capture of that terrorist two days ago with the raids that have been going on around London today. My guess is that poor prick has had quite a rough couple of days. No interrogation is that fruitful that fast.
I'd have to say that's a correct assumption. The Brits have been rounding up people left and right ever since. To borrow a bad line from any of the old gangster movies - "He's singing like a nightingale."

Remember that the evil villain in most Hollywood movies is British - never doubt the capacity of the British to play hard ball when it's necessary.
