I've been hearing that for 40 years now.

Don't think so-

Bidens legacy hasn't helped. Trump won't unite them. I'd say they have some mending to do.

The seeds of the decline were sown in the 70’s and early 80’s.

Bowing to the religious right, unfettered capitalism, etc.

This has, in short, led to mismanagement, outsourcing of labour, ever more polarisation and encamped mentalities.

The Tea party, Maga, trump, anti-science movements; they are all consequences of this. And I don’t see how it can be turned.

So, yeah, the US is doomed. It will destroy itself from within. I would reckon that the country will split in our lifetimes.

@mchill It maybe but it's happening, thanks to multinationals companies.

@mchill You was hearing for the last 40 years but you did not pay attention, it took USA approximately 150 to be economically number 1, it took China half that time to become number 2. How long do think it will take China to become number 1.???
thanks to American multinationals companies!!

Rome fell, Persia fell, the sun eventually set on the British empire, America will fall, too.

It will not be conquered by military force from without (the Chinese are smart enough not to try to go head-to-head with America's military might, but Putin might be stupid enough to risk military confrontation).

Trump is right, that the enemy is within, but he's pointing his too-small finger at the wrong culprits.

I think the beginning was Reagan.

Certainly, disco didn't help.

But can't you find any other topic to survey people besides impending doom?

Disco was indeed the end of everything.
