The incident in question you posted is indeed interesting. It's not nearly the same situation faced by Rittenhouse or Zimmerman but certainly will factor into a discussion about what 'self defense' really means when everyone is carrying a gun and ill equipped to handle the responsibility.

I was thinking though, that if conservatives want to tack into the idea that vigilante justice is heroic and commendable, then why are we paying the police? They aren't doing their jobs. The use of citizens to keep our streets safe is basically a volunteer force of right wing nut jobs. They have made a better argument for defunding the police than the progressive nut jobs ever will.

The right wing cheerleading for Rittenhouse was a response to the CNN's of the world's instant demonization of him.

I have absolutely no idea whether Marc Wilson should be convicted or not (if they really did try to run him off the road, his self-defense claim would seem pretty strong), but I doubt he'll be the victim of a sustained misinformation and demonization campaign by the CNNs and MSNBCs of the world.

Yeah, seems that these 'wing nuts' would
welcome the idea of living in an armed camp.
.....,.Funny when you think about it-----
Lawmen in the 19th century (Earp, Hickock, et al)
banned open carry firearms in towns where they enforced the law.

I'm sure ol' Wyatt Earp got tired of the standard 'self defense' excuse:

"I was just drinking in a bar and got in a fight that turned into a high noon duel and so I had to shoot the guy in self defense. He started it."

@wildgrass
I knew an old cowboy that shot a deer out of season and told The Game Warden,
''The deer attacked me and I had to shoot it in self defense.''
True story...It didn't fly with the judge
