The reporting on the corporate news media that Trump intends to take Kharg island with ground troops reminds me of the first gulf war. It was reported that Bush intended to land troops on the shore of Kuwait and that was a ruse. The real plan was to go into Iraq north of Kuwait to cut off supply lines and work down to Kuwait from there.

Iran was bombed in the middle of negotiations twice. Why would they bother? They know Trump cannot be trusted. He has no intention of reaching a deal. that was clear when he demanded Iran give up their missiles. Nobody has ever given up missiles. It is an unreasonable demand. It is amazing that some people think that is reasonable.

I believe Trump and Rubio think they can put troops north of the straits and work down to the straits to take control. Rubio thinks Iran has not thought of this and is prepared for it. Like any good chess player Iran is anticipating their opponent's next move.
Israel will not commit to putting their troops on the ground. The US does not have enough troops to occupy the whole country, so it is obvious they only have their sights on the straits to control that important choke point. Rubio should have kept his big mouth shut. He is no Henry Kissinger.
