taking into account for the most part of the human race we've done nothing but fight, kill and destroy those whose beliefs and cultures differ to ours, does that suggest Nationalism could be the answer to a more peaceful environment?

What? Nationalism just gives you more of what you're trying to eliminate. You need to reduce nationalism.

Of course not, nationalism ( ... or tribalism) is one of the most prominent ingredients of war.

I don't understand how you get from premise to conclusion (or question). Surely nationalism is the antithesis of creating an environment for other cultures and beliefs to flourish.

No. The violence may be reduced within the Nation, but it is rechannelled into war against other Nations. You get less gangsterism and thuggery, but you get more World Wars from nationalism.

... less gangsterism and thuggery ? ..... you mean "less" ?

If you'll study the situation on the Balkans, you'll soon find out that it is a wee bit different. These gangsters and thugs RULED the country ... I don't call that "less" gangsterism and thuggery ... but more ....

Would you mind giving me specifics? Which countries? When? You're using the past tense.
